We finally decked all of the walkway and planter boxes.
This project has taken a lot longer to complete, because through experience epay wood is a very hard wood to cut. With it's dense property all screw have to be pre-drilled. If you try to use a nail or a pneumatic nailer it does not penetrate the wood. Now I know why now this species of wood is nicknamed "Iron Wood."

Planter Box and Epay
We framed the planter box and walk way with 2x4 contacted rated pressure treated wood. We purchased our pressure treated from Southern Pine Lumber. Jay is a very knowledgeable guy in all things lumber.
The design plan was to create planter boxes and incorporating a sitting area. The walkway deck is an afterthought, but it works pretty well with the design.

Demo Brick Wall
9/14/2013
This has been a project has been on my mind since we moved in. We received a pallet of salvage epay wood from an old deck and I decided that it is now time to start this project. It's only been 9 years since we moved in so I think it was time.
So with just a sledge hammer it was pretty easy to start knocking down the bricks. With all these brink I bought a Waste Management "Bagster." I thought this would be a smart way to remove all the debris. To my surprise I have had a lot of neighbors that wants all these bricks. Who knew?!
